After a very successful College career as a 4x All American and being named Boston College's Athlete of the Decade, Betsy Duerksen became the first Coach for the University of Montana following a successful stint at the University of Seattle . In her time as Head Coach, she developed a powerhouse team that in only 2 years went 12-7 , won the first Big Sky Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament 2 times, defeating Washington State on the Cougars' home field in the first round of the latter, still the signature win in program history. She was a multi time conference Champion and Coach of the Year. Betsy left Montana to raise her 3 kids in San Clemente, CA where she coaches and guides players to be their best and happy selves on and off the field.
